Babylon Quartet – March 13, 2019

The Hague, Netherlands: The IRC, an international think-and-do-tank building strong WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) systems, invited the Babylon Quartet to perform a movement from Frank Horvat’s 35-movement string quartet, The Thailand HRDs, at their reception on the Human Right to Water and Sanitation Conference at the Carnegie Peace Palace in The Hague.

The event is drawing attention to the ongoing challenge for billions of people worldwide to secure safe and sustainable access to water and sanitation.

Axiom Quartet

Houston, United States: The Axiom Quartet live streams movement #11 of The Thailand HRDs live on Facebook from the University of St. Thomas, Houston, Texas. Dedicated to Mr Chit Thongchit, 54, who was shot on his land in Pak To District of Ratchaburi Province on January 15, 2009. He died 4 days later in hospital. An ex-policeman, he was shot by a sniper after exposing corruption inside the police force and fighting more than 10 corruption cases against police, influential locals and national politicians.

Artaria String Quartet – Nov 19, 2018

Minneapolis, United States: The Artaria String Quartet perform movements #3, #11, #18, #35 and #23 of The Thailand HRDs at Antonello Hall at the MacPhail Center for Music in Minneapolis, MN, along with works by Beethoven, Webern and Ligeti. This special concert is performed without pause putting The Thailand HRDs in-between each of the other works, immersing them into the fabric of the concert in a rhythm of on-going remembrance.
